My Charges For Postage & Handling

Hi, some sellers I know charged a flat rate between $2 - $3 as their handling fee for their items.

Here is a simple note of clarification on my charges for postage & handling for my auction items. Small items, no handling fee, only material cost. For either envelope or paper used to wrap the item, at $0.50 only (regardless of size).

However, for items that require me to go to the Post Office in order to post, will be charged a $0.50 handling fee, on top of the material cost and postage.

As I do not have a postal weighing machine at home, I normally gave a rough gauge of the postage pricing and after weighing, should there be excess in payment, I will refund my buyers by placing the money in the envelope or box.

Yes, I do that and have done so several times already. Why? Cos I am a good seller. : ) I am not trying to earn extra $ through postage charges.

As for the handling fee of $0.50, it's only a formality as I need to take a bus/MRT to Yishun (from now on, I can go to Sun Plaza, about 15 mins' walk), queue for 15 - 30 mins to weigh and then wrap the item before I can post it out. (With a child in tow.) Hope it appease my buyers about the $0.50. : )

As I also "shop" in Yahoo Auction, I do not want to be taken advantage of in any ways. Therefore, I will not do it to my buyers.

Hope this clears up any query you may have over my charges.

Thank you.

Change of Postage Cost

Hi, with the 2% increase of GST on 1 July 2007, the postage rates have also increased.

Right now, I have not had the chance to go to the Post Office to check the new rates out. (The new Post Office in Sun Plaza is not ready.)

If the changes are not big, then all postage will remain the same. (According to weight.) However, if there is any change, then I will list down the changes for you.

Thank you.

A New Promotion Idea

Hi, I have just thought of a new promotion idea.

After all the categories have been given a round of promotion, I will start a new promotion method based on certain items. (Instead of category.)

Should you like an item, you may want to add/save the link to monitor if that item will be selected for promotion and when it will be. After which there will no longer be any form of promotion for my items. (As it might drag till end of this year and I foreseen my time will be limited when my son starts school next year.)

When I have the time, I will list down the the items chosen for promotion and the potential date it will be up. At this moment, it's still in the planning stage.

It would be great if you (buyers) will help me out by offering some ideas or suggestions on what you would like to see in my Yahoo Auction Promotion.

Do check back every now and then for more updates.

Thank you.

Why MRT Destination & Not Home?

A short explanation on my Promotion Offers -

As I have a 4 year old son to bring wherever I go, the best and most convenient way for me to offer "FREE Delivery" is to MRT stations only.

My son was toilet trained recently only and I doubt he will be able to hold his bladder or poo for long journeys thru & fro.

Also, he tends to nap whenever I am out, therefore, I will need to bring a stroller along or he will ask me to carry him when he wants to sleep. (Too heavy for me and my back.)

It will be very inconvenient for me to travel any other ways, except for MRT, as my home is within walking distance to the MRT station.

I definitely cannot possibly travel by bus to my buyer's home with a stroller, a bag, a child and the sold items in toil.

I hereby apologise to my buyers for being able to offer that much only when you meet the Promotion Requirement.

Next year will definitely be better for me and you buyers (if my items are not sold out by then) when my son goes to school (K1).

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Promotion 5 (6 July - 12 July 07)

The Fifth Promotion is - Purchase $28 worth of VCD, CD or DVD and get them delivered FREE to 1 MRT destination of your choice.

Thank you.
